His:
Spent the bulk of my day on the phone with friends, former partners and co-workers. The outpouring of support has been tremendous. They all want my resume and are spreading the word and mining their contact books.
So the resume is my first priority (after getting my defunct computer up and running – any techies out there wanting to offer their services?)
We also broke the news to our oldest son (third grader) who listened for a minute and then turned to his Harry Potter #2 book. How’s that for disinterested? We reassured him we’d still have our house and food on the table, but told him we had to make decisions between needs and wants. (Like the cleaning service.) He immediately offered to pitch in. He has his eye on the new battery-operated Swiffer my wife bought. I suppose he knows many friends at school in similar situations and it will be interesting to monitor how and if it will affect him.
One of things that Deb and I discussed immediately and we constantly check in with is to make sure we are on the same page financially so that every decision we make is something we both agree on.
Blessing for the day: my network of great friends and acquaintances. And that we finally found our 2-year-old’s other sneaker. (In the printer.)
Hers:
Slept like crap last night. Fell asleep fine, but woke up at 1:45am to Dave sniffling and coughing in his sleep. (He has a cold.) Remembered he wouldn’t be going to work in the morning and was up for hours.
Bought Comet for all the bathrooms. Saved $12 in coupons at ShopRite, partly in thanks to the Coupon Fairy who left a $5 off coupon on top of the mega boxes of matzoh. (Thank you!) Came home and scrubbed the toilets.
I remember what a co-worker said to me many years ago when I was in a rough place at work. (I’ll sum up that situation like this: my immediate supervisor -married woman - had it in for me. Her immediate supervisor - a married man, and also the one I should be able to speak to about matters such as these - had it IN her.) But I digress. My friend said this: Life is just a bunch of balls juggling in the air – there’s work, marriage, health, family, friends, life. They’re all made of glass, except for work – that’s rubber. If you drop your marriage ball, say, or health, it shatters. You drop the work ball, don’t worry - it’ll bounce back.
Blessing #2 – Noticed some buds forming on the tree we replanted in the front yard. It’s not dead! And Spring is here.

Great job so far, guys and what an excellent -- and honest -- blog! I used the balls in the air analogy when I was on the phone with my brother tonight. Thanks for that one!
Great job on this blog so far -- the writing is excellent, and the subject is sadly far too relevant. I really like the balls in the air analogy -- I used it on the phone with my brother tonight, so it's traveled at least as far as Vermont already!
Nice article as for me. I'd like to read more concerning this topic.
BTW check the design I've made myself Overnight escort
